TalkingPoint Auto-transfer system
TalkingPoint's autotransfer system is being deployed by NHS Pathology services to automate the transfer of cases between outsourced pathology providers and client LIMS.
Outsourcing is now a fact of life for NHS pathology departments, with increasing numbers and complexity of cases being sent out to a growing number of third-party reporting providers that are rapidly expanding their capacity for both dry and wet cases.
Unfortunately, the initial export and consequential reimportation of cases, from and to laboratory information management systems (LIMS) can involve a significant amount of manual processing that absorbs large amounts of time, causes processing delays and is inherently error prone.

The automation also handles variations in SNOMED codes between reporting provider and client, translating SNOMEDs when the reports are transferred into the recipient LIMS.
